Once you learn more about the uber material that is bamboo you'll just want to scream it from the roof tops. It's been used to make gorgeous flooring, lamps, bowls and paper products and in the last decade it's become an extremely sustainable fabric that many describe as a cross between silk and cashmere. Not bad for a plant that grows to it's maximum height in just 3-4 months.
The only issue one could see was no one was making this wonder fabric into stylish pieces for every day wear. In most cases yoga pants and great T's were the extent of how to sport your eco-style. But that's all changing...
Doie Designs is the brain child of Sara Kirsner who studied at Parsons in NYC and decided to make fashionable classic style something you could feel good about inside and out.
The collection is extremely affordable ranging from $75 - $185 and is available at various boutiques across the country. A full list is available at the site.
