Top Changes at Christian Dior

As of Octorber 1st 2007 Patricia Malone will relinquish her posistion as president of Christian Dior Inc.  In her place will be Pamela Baxter, President of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton's Perfume and Cosmetics Group.

Dior stated, "The move reflects Dior's appreciation of Pamela Baxter's success in managing the North American perfumes and cosmetics business and it looks forward to her leadership in these expanded responsibilities."

The French fashion house is trying to attract a sophisticated consumer, one likely to stick with the brand for years. It is replacing T-shirts and pink logo bags with $4,500 python-skin purses. The return to elegance and exclusivity is a move shared by many of the grands couturiers.

Bohemian chic is being shown all over but leave it to the great Cavalli to take it to a delicate place.  Long flowing silk with bursts of color draping from an empire waist. My expectations were trounced on with each pass.

Cavalli's use of patterns and sheer fabrics are classic and the lavenders and pinks have all the feel of springtime.
