Things to keep in mind; 1) dorm beds are an unusual size. Be sure to have your measurements before picking out a cover. 2) Quilts aren't for old ladies anymore. In fact most of my favorite bedding pieces here today are quilts. They're also lighter weight if your school is more southern. 3) Duvets are just covers for over an existing comforter. They're generally used over the goose down comforters that come in plain white, but they can just as easily cover a standard comforter as well.
