AMSTERDAM-based Aruban designer and couturier Percy Irausquin died in an
accident, as was reported by the Dutch press on Thursday. Irausquin, who was
deemed by Vogue last year an up and coming talent about to make his footmark on
the international fashion scene, showed his collection at Amsterdam Fashion Week
just over a fortnight ago.
Irausquin caught the eye of Christian
Lacroix after graduating and perfected his skills with the atelier in Paris,
before moving on to work at Givenchy, alongside corset specialist
Hubert Barrere, at the house of Christian Dior.
Irausquin turned 39 in June this year. The circumstances of his death have not been confirmed, however the Dutch newspapers reported he slipped in his shower.
