Prepare for two weeks of fashion fantastic! This is our Olympics, people! True, New York City fashion week wont start till Friday, officially. But here's how this works. Mercedes Benz hosts the big show. Bryant Park as it's know. That will be Friday, Sept 5th through Friday Sept 12th. But not everyone can afford to show at Bryant Park. The over head and cost of renting space is astronomical and it's usually reserved for the big names and those dreaded final contestants on Project Runway. (I saw dreaded b/c I still don't know who's made it). But all around town in smaller, lesser known venues will be the collections of up and coming designers and even a few heavy hitters that just choose the mystique of avoiding the tents. Take Marc Jacobs, for instance.
In addition to all the madness of NYC's MBFW we have other fashions shows going on all over the world. Some RIGHT NOW. Japan, Berlin, Madrid, London, Paris, Milan... Charleston NC. You heard me!
