Method Actor

  The great thing about what we’re seeing Johnny Depp in here is that he’s actually in character. This picture is from the set of his newest movie The Rum Diary, based on the book by Hunter S. Thompson. (Yes, we know, we can’t wait either)  The great part is he doesn’t look like he is in character at all. He looks like he is going to get lunch.

Depp is the type of actor that has the ability to get into character to the point that you can’t tell what’s real or fiction anymore. In the documentary Breakfast with Hunter, Thompson himself self comments on Depp’s ability to impersonate him to a T, to the point that it at times made him and others visibly uncomfortable.

That being said, Johnny Depp could be strolling down the street in his leather jacket from 21 Jump Street or some Victorian age vintage from Sweeney Todd and though he may stick out due to either outfit being dated you would never, not for one minute, question his ability to pull it off.
