Our favorite part of the movie Almost Famous is when new manager Dennis Hope says to the band “If you think Mick Jagger will still be out there trying to be a rock star at age fifty, then you are sadly, sadly mistaken.” So funny, for so many reasons.
As much as the Rolling Stones can be idiots at times (they sued The Verve over the rights to ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ then sold the song to Nike for fuck sakes) you can’t deny that their music, stature and overall cool factor rivals and pretty much outshines any rock stars today. These guys are rock stars defined.
Ronnie Wood is probably three times your age, has been to more parties than you have and has consumed enough booze and drugs that if you even had the chance to see it in one massive pile, just looking at it would make you puke. Sure he’s wearing Uggs, but does YOUR grandfather look as cool as he does? I think not.
