IN? OR OUT?
Freaks Are Chic

The first time we watched the television show Gossip Girl, our palms started to sweat and we feel our face getting paler as every minute crept along. Suffice to say, we were not fans of high school and a program such as GG that not only aims to show what little s#ithead people can be as this age in some respect seems to not only condone but encourage it, it was a tad over whelming.  What it did do, however, was make us revisit a show we loved to death and really articulated what high school was like for us, and probably a lot of you out there reading this.  And let’s face it, as much as we love high end clothing, you can’t go wrong with wardrobe that emulates real life, can you?

Seriously, forget the overpriced, designer labels that fill the wardrobe department of Gossip girl and Lets break down 2 of the key clothing items that defined the 2 main characters on the show.

The thing about clothing items such as these is they become as much a part of being as the color of your hair and eyes - a key piece to the fashion puzzle that we are all made up of, whether we choose to admit it or not.

Lindsay Weir - Green Army Jacket

It was the identifying item of Lindsay Weir’s ‘freak’ existance – her dad’s from when he fought in korea.  We don’t care what anyone says, army green is a great neutral and looks amazing on everybody.  An old army jacket shoved in the back of your closet is like that old best friend you rarely see or talk to – You may not spend as much time together as you would like, but during the times you do, you kick yourself for not making more of an effort to have a better relationship.

Daniel Desario - Black Leather Jacket.

When people ask me what my ‘personal style’ is, these are usually the 3 words I give them to describe it. That being said, Daniel Desario and I would have got along just fine. Like the little black dress for women, or a nice black button down shirt for me, it’s one of the corner stone’s of every well thought out collection of clothing, no matter what your style.
