WTF Are You Wearing?

Before we say anything, we want to say that in our hearts of hearts, we love Elton John. It is only in this extenuating circumstance that we have something negative to say about a man who has influenced music and you can even say art in the way that he has.  In a career that has now spanned over 4 decades (think about that for a second) Sir Elton has sold – wait for it – over 200 million records. He’s a Knight for f#ck sakes.

His musical style is one that has rarely been emulated and never duplicated, you know 100% when you are hearing an Elton John song, if only cause of his voice.  Though his exterior fashion sense  was and is at time thought of to be off the wall and eccentric, he complimented and backed it up with his obvious intelligence and activism outside of his music – both which he continues to this day. He didn’t get knighted for some good songs and crazy outfits, we assure you.

Now, now, we know people get old, it’s inevitable, but we still can’t hold in our distaste in seeing Elton walk around St Tropez looking like some sort of overweight retiree. Aging or not, we know he is better than this and we hope that he does too. Everyone needs a vacation and we know you can be dressed like you’re onstage all the time, but at least put in a tad of effort would you? Thank god he’s not wearing CROCS.
