Street Style - M.I.A Secret Show

So there was a secret M.I.A show in Los Angeles last week, which really considering it was all over Facebook and every corner of the internet in the previous week or so, really wasn’t that secret at all. We’re pretty sure this is one her first or if not her first show since having her baby a few months back, but she looks fantastic as always, though not a colorful as she’s been known to be in terms of dress.

Given the nature of the show and of course the notorious fashion choices of M.I.A herself, it was only natural that the crowd be filled with a slew of fashionable, colorful people, and here are some of what we felt were the best and brightest.

Sure, this guys hat is great and yeah, the gold chain, four finger rings and fedora are some well chosen pieces of flare, but think that s#it eating grin that just says he knows he looks good is the be all, end all when it comes to accessories of any good outfit.

Let’s face it, were in 2009, the world has changed and in our books whether you’re straight/gay, man/women, make up is pretty much good for anyone. Love it.

Rocking a bleached blonde shaved head is one thing. An off the shoulder semi-see through shirt is another. Walking around a night club anywhere in the world looking like this women is something else entirely. Wow.

We want this guy and his fedora and tattoos to take us for a ride in his low rider while we listen to Doctor Dre on his sound system that fills the entire trunk.

Number on fan?

A friend who works in trend analysis was telling us back in 2008 that southwest prints/influence were going to come back hard, and boy was he right. We've been seeing this all over lately, but more subtle than what we saw in the 90's.

And more southwest print. Check out that subtle detailing on the shoulders.

We wish we were brave enough to rock, and maintain, this hairstyle. We have a hard enough time putting make up on every day.

Lady of the night, M.I.A. Call me crazy, but I think she is actually rocking a black pair of Spanx, straight out in the open, and I wouldn't put it past her for a second. You go girl!!!! Rock that after baby body.

We're loving the way girls have been taking a cue from waaaaay back and rocking these lace veils. Its ballsy and takes a certain kind of gall, but when you pull it off, it's stunning.
