Though we aren’t 100% happy with the color of this dress, ultimately it’s completely forgivable given all the other numerous ways that Anna Friel is working it in this gown. Not only does she look sophisticated but she looks down right sexy which isn’t always an easy feat in a piece such as this.

The funny thing about a gown like this is that if you picked it up off the rack (that is if you actually even dared to pick this up off the rack when you saw it in the first place) there are any number of things that you could seemingly find unflattering about it. The bust and neckline area are fairly unusual for a dress of this nature and that in and of itself is quite a risk. Seriously, how often do you see a women o the red carpet covered up to her neck? The wide, exaggerated shoulders are accented by the subtle rouching abdomen area, which could also potentially draw attention to what some women deem to be a ‘problem area’ for the body.

Not so says the lovely Anna Friel, and when you combine the sheer stunning outcome of her having the guts shy away from the usual evening gown formula with the perfect hair and make-up to conjure afternoon day dreams of old Hollywood, classic flims and glamour, it’s safe to say that this one is a win, no?
