Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

We grew up the youngest in a household of brothers, so it was only natural that until we were 20 or so we had a hard tomboy streak running through us (and in some ways, still do).  We didn’t actually have a regular, female friend until we were about 18 and at the time, we didn’t care enough about fashion to exploit the abundance of possibility that comes from having a friend to share clothes with.  By the time we finished fashion school (and therefore were making loads of our own stuff on a monthly basis) and landed our first – and last - fancy corporate fashion job, we had money to blow on more clothes than ever and we were in full swing when it came to being obsessed with what we wore. As if this wasn’t enough, it was at this point that we rented an apartment with an equally clothing obsessed female counterpart who, as luck would have it, was exactly the same size as us. It was meant to be. Finally, it was then and only then that we realized the gold mine we had been ignoring in the form of our completely adorable and extremely stylish best friend from high school.  We made up for lost time tho... ;)

For girls, lending, swapping and borrowing clothes is like a bizarre right of passage /BFF affirmation ritual, like friendship bracelets and doing one another’s hair.  Why guys never get into it, we couldn’t tell you, but even as someone who got into it late in the game, we don’t for a second doubt its importance. We don’t really know where we are going with this, but this girl right here looks *strikingly similar* to our BFFL from back home, and it’s got us longing for a down and dirty, no-holds-barred-clothing-and-accessory-rampage.  How can you resist wanting to pillage the closet of the grown up version of Punky Brewster? Imagine all the gems she has in there just waiting to be discovered!!
