IN? OR OUT?
Guide to Big and beautiful bags to wear in 2007 by TopStylista

Bags take on a new role in 2007, not only are they the fashionable accessory to own and wear but they will be bearing characterful humour. This year bags are not too be taken so seriously therefore decide what side of your personality you want to show off and you won't go too far wrong. Perhaps think about investing in two or three bags which show off different sides to your personality then you can chop and change depending on your mood.

Oversized bags still rule and you will see them get bigger and better by the second in 2007. I love oversized bags but they are also a necessity, I love to throw all my belongings into mine because I just hate forgetting something really important and I suppose if your carrying round such a big bag it will always leave you with lovely toned upper arms - no bat wings in sight then! A great option for making the transition into Spring. A good tip when looking for an oversized bag is to stick to a neutral or solid colour. The bag will stand out in it's own right by being so big but you don't want to look overcrowded and have it clash with what your wearing.

Metallic, shiny fashion is everywhere to be seen in 2007 and what better way to add a slick edge to any day or night outfit. Metallic bags made a brief appearance in 2006 but when coming round to buy one last year I just couldn't find one that I liked. This will not be the case this year as I am sure there will more than enough to choose from. Matt shiny copper and golds hide amidst high glossy patent silvers showing off textures all round.

My favourite metallic bag for 2007 is 'Romy' by Gucci, it's the medium Boston bag with double handles, zip-top closure and features the horsebit ring buckle detail. This bag really is to die for in silver python with silver leather trim and it looks so cute - I definitely have to have one!

We are talking about showing off this year and one thing to look for in a bag is the detail. It's all about tassels, charms and gems and there is no rule to say how much you should wear. Bags look crafty and handmade with detailing looking random and brash. If your strapped for cash this year and your budget won't allow you a bag then update an old one. A good tip is to create your own bag charm making it personal to you, it can be as wild and as crazy as you want it to be. Think about what colour your existing bag is, then create a charm to compliment it bearing in mind the texture, finish and what other outfits you will be wearing it with. There is no rule so get creative - the more hand made it looks the better!
