Chicago's Best Idea

If you're in a band and you're from Chicago, let me make a suggestion. Keep the female bass player trend alive.
Two prime examples of this are Smashing Pumpkins bass player Darcy and The Ponys bass player Melissa Elias. Both are hot, both are damn fine bass players, and both make the rest of the band look way cooler than they actually are.
Yeah, yeah, I know that Chicago bands aren't the only people who do this. But Chicago seems to be ahead of the trend. So yes, (Chicago) rock's greatest accessory is the female bass player. Done. Nuff said. Keep it alive. We all love it.

Gee, if only there had been an NYC band from the mid-70's with a female bass player. Oh that's right the name of this band is Talking Heads (see how I tossed in an album title at no extra charge?)
