Got to Be Real

As much as we despise the notion among people that are already a) famous and b) filthy rich to get even more famous and more filthy rich-ier, there’s also that side of us that can’t blame them either. Leighton Meester has her eyes set on a pop career as of now and though we don’t think she can sing worth a damn we have no doubt in our minds that her music will appeal to her already solid and large fan base thanks to her role on Gossip Girl. We can’t blame a gal for trying, but when we see her in something like this in an attempt to sort of ‘reinvent’ herself for the music industry, we think it’s not only unflattering but unnecessary. Given the nature of her acting career and the fans she has already, why they would want to re-brand her into something that is unfamiliar to them is confusing because, let’s be real here, she is never going to have a music career that really spans beyond the fans she already has. We aren’t the hugest fans of this outfit, but we like that she looks like her, and in this dress, she does.
